One popular trend when it comes to goal setting is choosing a “word of the year.” Choosing one or a few words can help narrow down your goal setting rather than having multiple goals that you want to achieve.
What is a word of the year?
A word of the year is a word or series of words that will define how you would like the upcoming year to go for you, either professionally or personally, or both. It is a word or words that will be a reminder of your goals for the year. Tying all your goals back to a word of the year is a great way to stay organized. Whatever word you choose, you want to make sure it will motivate you and keep you driven.
How to choose a word of the year
Keep It Real Social went through an exercise this past month to decide on our word of the year. Our word of the year last year was WOW. We wanted to impress and excite our clients. As a noun, the word WOW means sensational success. This year, we brainstormed separately possible words and then brought them all to the table to review. Some of those words were:
- Exploration
- Consistency
- Captivating
- Magic
- Flourish
- Fearless
- Balanced
- Growth
- Intentional
- Elevate
- Focus
We then talked about each word and which one would fit us as a team, and our goals for our clients. We wanted the word that we chose to describe how we as a team wanted to be and what we desired for our clients.
Keep It Real Social’s 2022 Word of the Year
So what word did we come up with for next year? Drumroll… GROWTH and ELEVATE! We liked both of these words so much that we had to go with two this year! These words describe how we want to be as a team and what we are looking to do for our clients. We all want to grow as a team, and we want our clients’ businesses to be constantly evolving or growing. Along with GROWTH, we are always looking to ELEVATE our clients’ business. We want to lift our clients up and help take their business to the next level.
