If you are a small business owner, you probably don’t have a huge marketing budget. Keeping your costs low in all areas of your business is essential to keeping your business thriving. However, you understand the importance of marketing your business. Thanks to social media, there are many ways to market your small business with little to no costs. Here are a few ideas we came up with for small businesses:
Create multi-purpose content.
Thanks to digital marketing, you can create one piece of content and post it on multiple platforms. For example, if you write a blog post and post it on your website, you can create social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest to direct people back to the blog post. Use quotes from your blog as part of your social media posts. Pinterest is a great platform to drive people back to your website. Pinterest can be considered a search engine platform. You can create multiple pins directing people back to the same blog post.
Use online reviews as marketing.
Encouraging your customers to write reviews on Google or your social media platforms is a great marketing tool. Company reviews can be considered user-generated content. People look to others for opinions of a business or product. If you have positive reviews that can be seen publicly, your business is being promoted without you having to do anything.
If, by chance, you get a bad review, it is still not necessarily a bad thing. A bad review gives you, as a business owner, the ability to show everyone publicly how you can make it right and provide excellent customer service.
Create a social community.
Interacting with your customers or potential customers is another great way to promote your business. You can do this by asking questions or opinions on your social media platforms. Creating a Facebook or LinkedIn group is also a great way to start conversations with your customers.
It’s important always to remember to respond to any comments or questions posted on your blog, social media, and reviews. Responding to your posts helps to create trust with your audience.
Host an online event.
Event marketing can be a very costly marketing tactic. The good news is, hosting an online marketing event can cost very little, if anything! There are many ways you can host an online event. You can host a webinar to teach your customers about a specific product or service. Plan a Twitter chat for constant interaction with your followers during a specific time.
You can also partner with other brands that complement yours for an online event. If there are any costs for the event, you can split the costs between the two companies. You will also be increasing your knowledge and expertise by partnering with another company and reaching a larger audience!
Digital marketing has allowed small businesses to market themselves in a variety of different ways. All it takes is a little creativity!
